so excited!

I don't have much to write about except for the fact that I leave for NYC in 4 days!!!! We have an early flight on Christmas day and the minute we land and get our luggage and rental car we are headed to Cooperstown, NY to see the baseball hall of fame. After a day and a 1/2 in Cooperstown we head back to NYC and spend the rest of the vacation sight seeing, shopping, eating, eating, and more eating, and experiencing NYC!

This will be probably be my last post until I get back from my vacay. I will be posting A LOT of pictures!

I hope everything has a blessed and Merry Christmas and an even better New Year!!!!

nada

I have nothing to write about.....no exciting news my way. But I feel the need to post for some odd reason. Maybe because I am bored at work and I have nothing else to do? That is probably the reason. Here is a shout out to a few friends of mine who have blogs....Danielle- YO! when are you going to have a new post, I'm sick of reading that darn survery :) Tina ( Valerie)- I'm sick of seeing that darn survey too.JD- you are doing a great job of posting on a regular basis, so thank you. You keep me entertained :) Listen here people, I don't have a life right now and all I do is get on the computer during work and pass time, so humor me here. Entertain me. Enlighten me. I'm begging you. Haha, I sound desperate. A part of me is. Well, not totally. I'm just bored and I have every reason to be bored at work. All I do is sit behind a teacher's desk and look like I know what I'm doing. I read magazine after magazine, do a crossword puzzle here or there, and maybe I have a conversation with a student. ( they are toooo caught up in themselves) Speaking of crossword puzzles, I have really gotten into them. I am not entirely too good at them but they do pass time and I find them brain stimulating. I've been doing the ones in People Magazine, and OK! Magazine and a few other magazines. I find myself being a little embarrassed as students walk by and they see their 23 yr old substitute teacher( who gets confused for being a student) doing crossword puzzles. I kinda just place my hand over the page and act like I'm not doing anything.Growing up, I always saw my Nannie doing crossword puzzles and I had the same feelings for crossword puzzles as I did reading books. Stupid. Yep, I said stupid. I don't like to read unless its drama in celebrities lives, or maybe a good autobiography. But now, I see a whole new light on Crossword puzzles. You can definitely tell when you are getting older in age, you start to enjoy the things your parents and grandparents enjoy, haha.

So Christmas is almost here! Can you believe it? I sure as heck can't! With 70-80 degree weather its hard to believe it's December 14th. It's slowly getting cooler here in Sugar Land, but not like I would like it to be. I'll get my dose of cold weather in NYC. It's gonna be C-O-L-D! Get ready for me to post a bazillion pictures from that trip! :) Anyway, thats enough babbling for me.

Hope everyone is doing well!

september 20, 2008

My lovey and me!

For those of you who don't know, which might be all of you who read my blog I have a new wedding date. Exciting, I KNOW! Brandon and I are getting married September 20, 2008. Now before I go on about the new wedding date I need to get a few things straight for those of you who were confused or heard rumors about my wedding plans.

My original wedding date was Nov. 17, 2007. Now, I have heard everything under the sun when Brandon and I changed the wedding date. Rumors were going around that the wedding was canceled or Brandon and I broke up. Where those rumors started I have NO IDEA but its always frustrating when rumors get started and they are clearly not true. Brandon and I have been engaged for almost 2 years, long time, I know. But as these 2 years have passed I really have been happy that we have been engaged for this long. So to all you speculators out there who doubted us, SHAME ON YOU because we are still together and happier than ever. Now back to the whole changing the wedding date issue. The reason why Brandon and I changed the date was because we both wanted to finish school first. Why we didn't think of that before we picked the first date, I don't know....maybe we were just excited about getting married so we jumped into things. Also, while planning the wedding I was going to school full-time, working full-time, and had other things going on in my life as well as Brandon's that were really stressing us out to the max. We wanted the wedding planning time to be fun, exciting, happy- although it was fun, exciting, and happy at times, it truly didn't feel like it was the right time. Being the adults we were , we decided the best thing for us was to push it back. Also, getting married on 11/17/07 we wouldn't of been graduated yet, no job security, no real income...pretty much nothing. We didn't want to rely on our parents for money or go through life as newlyweds living penny to penny. Brandon will be graduated this summer and unfortunately I won't be done till next December. I just had my audit for my major and I am getting screwed over on some credits that I have from ACU so that pushed me back another semester. I was very upset when I found this out but someone told me something that really helped me get through the anger. She said maybe it's meant to be for you to graduate Dec. 08, there has to be a reason why, you might not know why but to everything, there is a reason. So right now, I'm banking on " there is a reason why I am graduating Dec. 08". I'm trying to be optimistic, haha! Hopefully Brandon will get a position with a good company once he graduates and we can live closer to campus so I don't have to drive 30 mins everyday to class. So pray for Brandon as his college career comes to an end and he embarks on a new beginning of finding a job and working in the real world.

So for the wedding planning, everything is pretty much DONESKY! I have a dress, the church, the reception site, photographer, bridal portraits, engagement pictures, bridesmaid dresses, colors picked out... everything that plays a huge role in the wedding has been accomplished. I am now in the process of scoping out invitations and what not because that really is the only "big" thing left to take care of for the wedding, besides the guest list, which is going to be a huge issue, but oh well. I like to get a head start of things so I don't get stress, that is why I am already looking at invitations and all that stuff.

Brandon and I are happier than ever and I can't wait to be his wife and be able to have the name Kellianne Barron. Although September 20 seems SO FAR away, it's not. It will be here before I know it. I will keep everyone update on the wedding plans. I wish I could show you pictures of my dress and all that fun stuff but Brandon might read my blog so I better not disclose anything on here!

I'll leave you with one of my favorite engagement pictures of Brandon and I.

what did i get myself into???

Substituting........what did I get myself into, seriously! The idea sounded GREAT for the longest time because it was a paid position, nothing to spectacular, like $75 a day, better than nothing right? ( considering I don't have a real job other than being a professional babysitter). So yes, the idea was great, UNTIL................... I HAVE TO START WAKING UP @ 5:30 AM EVERY MORNING! are you kidding me??????? I don't know about you guys but I LOVE MY SLEEP! I am not a morning person, never have been and NEVER will be -so getting up this early is entirely against the law in my book. Trying to function that early in the morning, YEAH RIGHT, COUNT ME OUT! Also, trying to put a smile on my face when I walk into Clements High School and see all the little "@#%#"heads I deal with is something that is definitely hard for me. I try to tell myself that life at this very moment it will get better because I try and think of the day going by fast but the day doesn't go by fast when you watch the clock tick and tock every second. So here are some things I'm dealing with while substituting......

1. I'm so bored that I check my email - oh maybe every 4 1/2 minutes.... I need to stop doing that!
2. The internet at school blocks myspace, facebook.....and really anything entertaining to look at.
3. I'm putting up with stupid little kids who have no respect for this world let alone themselves and they think they can run all over every person they encounter and I've had about enough of what I can take. The kids know I don't mess around....I'm on the verge of writing someone up real soon.
4. Teachers letting their kids do whatever the heck they want
5. I am running out of things to do while 50 mins pass. You would think that 50 mins would pass oh so fast but NOPE!
6. I HATE when kids complain to me about having to do vocabulary words or a little worksheet- I tell them.... I WOULD DIE for your assignments, try having to write a 20 page paper in college or take tests that are 100 questions long with 16 essays on them. These kids have it soooooo easy!
7. I'm sick of freshman! That's all I have subbed for has of late and I'm ready to move onto the older students. I thought with teaching freshmen they would behave and kinda be scared to be freshmen b/c HELLO...THEY'RE FRESHMEN! But no, they think they are cooler than the Seniors...OH PALEASE!

So the list could go on but I don't want to bore you. I also don't want you to think I am complaining because I am grateful that I do have a job that I am getting paid for. I'm just a little dis-grunted about a view things!

So there's my story and I'm sticking to it!

If you have any tips that I could take with me to work I would LOVE to hear them! :)

Hope everything is doing well...staying warm or in Houston's case staying cool in this weird weather.

Christmas is days away! WAHOOOO!!!
Bye!

a NEW YORK state of mind!

I'm going to NEW YORK for Christmas!!!!!!!
My parents are amazing and they bought my whole family, including Brandon, plane tickets to New York for 7 days, this trip is all of our Christmas presents. How amazing is that? We are all so excited and can hardly wait to get there! We leave Christmas Day and come back New Years Day. I have been checking the weather lately in New York to see if it has been cold ( unlike crappy Houston, 78 degrees???) and today it is SNOWING in New York! So exciting, I hope it snows when we are there!
Below are pictures that I found on the internet to show some of you the places we will be going while on our vacay.
Sidenote: I am not about posting pictures that aren't my own on this blog thing but since I don't have any pictures YET of these places this it the best I could do. Enjoy!

New York!

Central Park

Times Square .....we will be in Times Square on New Years Eve to watch the ball drop!!!!!

Statue of Liberty

Ground Zero, one of the main places I want to go !

Radio City Music Hall

Now, of course we will be going other places than the ones I stated above. For example, the first day we arive in New York we are immediately driving to Cooperstown, New York to go spend a day and a 1/2 at the Baseball Hall of Fame ( that attraction is mainly for the boys, partially for me). We are also staying at a hotel in New Jersey so we will get to see some of NJ too! We will also be going to Little Italy, Soho, New York Stock exchange and many other places. We have 7 days so hopefully we will get to see eveything we want to see. Oh yeah, we will be going to see a Broadway Show.

So needless to say I am counting down the days till we go to New York. Ready to get out of Sugar Land and this gross hot weather!

i'm a substitute teacher

Yes, you read the title of this new post correctly, I'm a substitute teacher. Today was my very first day to sub at my old high school Clements. I was subbing for my high school softball coach who teaches math ( pretty much my worst subject). He teaches Algebra to 9th graders, don't worry I didn't teach , I just handed out quizzes and told them to shut their mouths and not cheat! Overall, my first day as a sub went really well! Here are a few little things I'd like to share about my day....

1. I woke up @ 5:15am and boy..... I was feeling it all day.
2. All the 9th grade boys apparently talked about me all day to the other students because every period already knew who I was before I even said my name....it was kinda funny.
3. So today they had a quiz and I was praying to God that during the quiz they wouldn't come up to me and ask for help because I am HORRIBLE at math. I was pretty nervous about that.
4. There were 2 things I told the kids before the quiz, 1. NO TALKING during the quiz and 2. NO CHEATING. ( that was hard for me to say because I mean, who hasn't cheated in their life? I felt like a hypocrite) I don't think these little 9th graders could of made it ANYMORE OBVIOUS that they were cheating. They thought they were sooo sneaky! From knocking your pencil off the desk so you could lean down and take a glance on your neighbors paper to acting like you are popping your neck and during mid pop you swipe your eyes on the girl/boys paper next to you or how bout this one.....the kids checking the clock literally every 4 seconds and during the clock check they can roll their eyes to see someone else's answers. There were a few more they did and as I watched them I thought, "C'mon now kids, can you make it anymore obvious? But then again, was I that obvious? Who knows! I called a few kids out on cheating but being the NICE person I am I let it slide and didn't write them up, oh well.

That's just a few tidbits of my day, I'm still a little out of it due to lack of sleep. I really did enjoy myself because CHS is my high school and I know A LOT of the coaches and teacher and plus my momma and brother work there....keepin' it in the family!

Hope everyone is doing well and again, I love reading everyone's blogs! :)

Have a great weekend!

i love reading my friends blogs!

I'm pretty excited and I'll tell you why! All of my closest friends are getting blogs! I will admit that I might be a little bit stalkerish when it comes to blogs but I can't help it! I love being informed of everyone's life especially when you don't get to talk to them much or you never see them cause they live far away(plus I'm a little nosy...but who isn't?). So I would love to share with you a few pictures of my friends that I love and consider some of my closest friends even though they live far away or we don't talk much.

This is Danielle and I, we played softball together @ ACU. Danni and her husband just got a blog which makes me so happy because even though we live in the same city we don't really see each other, which is my fault because I just am bad about keeping in touch with people. But don't be suprised if you find me on your door step one day :) I love you D-FIZZ!

This is Val, JD, and myself and as you can see we played softball together @ ACU too. I love these girls to death! I am Val's body double, see the resemblance? identical, right? thats what everyone else says too! We could always crack a joke with each other no matter the case and I love that about Val. Val- I am so excited I get to read about your life in San Fran! JD is in the middle and she was like my mom in abilene. I could talk to her about anything! She was also someone you could crack a joke with and no matter what, she always seemed to have my back or take my side and that always made me feel good. JD- I love being able to read about the Doty family and what the new updates are!

I love all 3 of these girls sooo much and like I said before, I am just so excited that we all have blogs and we can all catch up on each others lives. I will be honest, JD has the best blog because I love being able to watch Jaxon grow, but don't worry girls I love you too, haha!

Anyway, I am very blessed to have these girls as my friends and even more excited that I can stalk their lives!

LOVE YOU GIRLS!

over and out-

K-Sizz/K Luv Schrockstar!

we ARE family

I like to start this blog with showing you a picture of my sweet little Nakona girl. She is just one little mess, but I lover her to death! She is a year old Shih Tzu, I named her after my softball glover brand- clever, I know! :)

So today is Thanksgiving and I have so much to be thankful for. Just to name a few.......
1. I'm so thankful for my family. I have such an amazing family and I am so lucky that God chose my family just for me!
2. I am so thankful for Brandon. He is so special and I love him so much. He makes me feel like a queen 24/7 and most of all he loves me for me.
3. I am so thankful for just the little things in life such as food, shelter, clothing, transportation. I take SO many things for granted and I sometimes fail to thank my God for the little things in life.
4. I am so thankful for my pups. I love them so much! They truly bring a smile on my face everyday, always when I need it the most.

That is just a FEW things I am thankful and always will be thankful for.

When I started to think about a new post I knew exactly what I wanted to write about. A little over a year ago my Nannie died at the age of 86. She was the backbone of my family, the hero, the grandmother that everyone wanted, the Godly Christian women that everyone wanted to be like, she was the best person I have ever known. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite times of the year because of the emphasis of family. She LOVED her family and when I mean LOVED, she L-O-V-E-D them. She started a tradition in our family and that was every year we gathered at her house in Baytown, Texas ( where my daddy grew up) for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Everyone looked forward to those 2 days of the year because it was that time of the year where we all got together and most of all it was that time of the year that Nannie got to see all of her kids and grandkids. I am 1 out of 2 granddaughters she had so I had a special place in my Nannies heart and she had an even more special place in my heart. Nannie was stubborn, she wouldn't let you do anything for her even at the age of 86 she in fact, would still cook some of the food for the holidays. She was an all-star cook, to this day I think she should of had a cookbook published and a restaurant's of her own. She clearly was in a league of her own when it came to cooking. Thanksgiving and Christmas was a time for fellowship, laughter, story telling, eating so much that you hurt, it was a time for family. Like I said before Nannie loved family. Nannie has been gone for 2 Thanksgivings now and although we try to keep the family tradition going, it just isn't the same without my Nannie there. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about Nannie in some way, shape, or form. She is the reason why this family is together, she is the reason why we have this family tradition. I need to correct myself when I said Nannie was in a league of her own when it came to cooking, I was wrong. Nannie was in a league of her own when it came to being a grandmother. So as this Thanksgiving draws to a close and Christmas starts to begin may every family out there start a family tradition. There is nothing better than family and nothing better than legacy's. Nannie left a legacy and I hope to continue that legacy and family tradition.

Happy Thanksgiving ya'll!

This is Nannie and I at her 85th Birthday Party.

being mommy

Brandon came over for a bit and this is what I found when I walked into the living room, Gracie loving on Brandon....just too cute!

Gracie was OBSESSED with Brandon! She wanted to be near him 24/7, it was precious!

Gracie age 3 watching "sister" play "occer"

Here is Madison age 7 at her soccer games

So I know I posted already today but I forgot to tell you about my weekend. I was a mommy from Thursday-Monday. I babysat 2 girls, Madison and Grayson( Gracie). I have been babysitting for them for about a year now and I L-O-V-E them! They are possibly the best 2 girls that anyone could babysit for. They are so sweet and respectful. It was definitely an action packed weekend. I played "soccer mom" for Madison who is the 7 year old. 2 soccer games Sat. and 2 games Sunday. Gracie was such a sweet girl and tagged a long just like a champ! I'll attach some pictures below so you can see how sweet and precious these girls are. As much as I love kids ( which is A LOT) definitely being a "mom" for other children is a lot of work. It is no longer about me but about these girls. Brandon knows how much I want children 4 to be exact but I know that we will be waiting a while for children because it is so time demanding and you must become self-less. To all you moms out there who are my friends ( which everyone is having babies now) I have much respect for you all. Being a mom is a hard thing, but a rewarding thing. I can't wait to be a mommy! :)

it's been a while

So, it's been a lonnnnng time since I last posted. I'm not even sure if anyone reads my blog, haha. Oh well. Anyway, I have been so busy and I didn't really feel that I had anything "juicy" to write about to be honest. But, here I am, sitting in my bed bored and thought I would write a little something.

So my life has been so busy! Between going to school full-time, having an internship full time with the American Diabetes Association, coaching a softball team, and babysitting almost EVERY week.... I have barely had time to have some R & R. Speaking of some R&R, as most you know, my wedding was supposed to be this weekend but it is no longer and I am VERY thankful for that. You're probably thinking, what? I am so thankful that we changed the date because there would be NOOOOO WAY that I could do all the things listed above plus planning a wedding and getting ready for a wedding. There is NO WAY! I think Brandon feels the same, life is just tooo busy right now for a wedding. Plus, we love being engaged...haha!

I do know that I am ready for this semester to be O-V-E-R! I'm ready to graduate which now, might not be till next Decemeber. I just found that out and I was almost in tears because I was banking on gradauting this Summer. Transferring from ACU to U of H was a bitter/sweet thing. I miss ACU soooooo much, I miss abilene, I miss my friends, I miss everything that I missed out on when I left. I sometimes think about going back there to finish up but then I think that it might pro-long my graduation. Whats a few more years right? haha..NO! I do like U of H though, believe it or not. I have grown to like it. I didn't go to U of H to make friends like I did ACU, but I have made a few friends and they are great. There are definitely some cons to U of H which I feel that I will NEVER get over, haha.

1. I HATE the drive to school, hate it hate it hate it!!! ( I miss being 2 mins away from campus from the dorms or my house)
2. I HATE THE TRAFFIC that comes with the driving!!!! ( Traffic.... in Abilene? DOUBT IT! )
3. I HATE the parking @ U of H
4. You need to leave at least an hour before your class starts to find a parking spot, its horrible.
5. I hate that you have to drive from one building to the next b/c everything is so far away

You get the drift, right? Don't get me wrong, it really is a great school, underestimated in fact. I just wish I lived closer to campus so I would be more motivated to go to class, which is where I am supposed to be now.

Anyway, I guess thats it for now, see, nothing juicy was said, sorry!

Have a great Tuesday ya'll!

happy birthday rocky!

Happy birthday to my sweet boy Rocky! He is 2 years old today! He is a male Shih Tzu and he is so special to me......everyone loves him! For his birthday we bought him a new bone, he loves him! Rocky is unbelievable smart and lovable but yet is sooooooo stubborn at the same time. He has so many nicknames , for example, Coco, Rocco, Rockolino, Rocks, Rockstar, and the list goes on. He is grandaddy's boy for sure! ( Grandaddy is my dad, and he is obsessed with his Rocky!!!) This picture was on my 23rd birthday, I have better ones of Rocky, but I saw this one first so I put it up. I'm sure you are reading this and thinking, " Ok, Kellianne is one of those people who are obsessed with their dog, dresses them up, treats them like a real person, etc." I will say this, I love my dog, obsessed? maybe not that far, not saying that I don't care for him. He is my little guy and you cant help but care for your own pet. Pets are your family too!!! If something ever happened to him, I would be devastated, just as anyone would who really cared for their pet. I also have a little girl Shih Tzu named Nakona, after the brand of my softball glove. If anyone knows me well, they know that softball was my life since I was 7 years old. Started when I was 7 and ended when I was 21. Nakona is a little firecracker, oh my stars! Rocky is the loving one who wants to cuddle and Nakona loves to run and play and chase frogs and all that silly dog stuff. They are great playmates and love each other so much. ( If you are wondering, no I do not dress up Nakona, she has a pink harness on with flowers on it and thats about it. I might throw her little sweater on when I walk her in the winter but that is the extent of that! ) I love my pups, there is NO DOUBT!

jumpin on the bandwagon

Everyone's doing it so I guess I will too. It seems as though I find everyone having or getting a blog page. I did one of these things my freshman year of college and couldn't find time to keep up with it. But now, I find myself reading other peoples sand love being updated and and informed about what is going on in their life. By no means am I saying that I think people will come to my page everyday and read what I have to say, but I think it might be a a good thing for me, it just might be a stress reliever. I'm all about anything that will relieve stress, especially in my life right now with trying to finish school, holding down an internship, and picking up with my wedding planning.

At the end of every blog I am going to leave a scripture, much like a little thought of the day.

13" So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul-"
-Deuteronomy 11:13
