young and dumb.....older and wiser

I love this picture. It was taken last summer on our annual camping trip to Lake Somerville. Brandon's family and I along with some other folks take a trip on a weekend and go camping. We water ski, tube, knee board- anything in the water you can imagine. So this particular picture was taken in the "kids" tent, it fit about 10 of us and it had been raining so we took cover
( because rain is sooooooooo scary, haha). We just got done playing catch phrase with everyone and we were all hyper and started taking pictures. This one turned out the best. In this picture is Ashley Sirman and Cheri Wood, 2 of my favorite people on the planet. Friends come and go in your life but these are 2 girls that have been through thick and thin with me. I love them to death and would go through anything to be there for them. As you get older you become wiser, sounds silly, I know. But you get a chance to look back growing up and think of all the good times and bad times and when I think back, I think of these 2 people. Yes, I have a lot of friends ( not bragging at all) but I have a handful of friends that I call best friends, and these girls definitely fit that mold of being a best friend. I could go on and on about Ashley and Cheri but I will leave with this, there is nothing better than having a friend to lean on, to call, to cry to, to laugh with, to be mad at, and to be happy with. Friends are a gift from God and I know he chose Ashley and Cheri to be a part of my life for a reason.

Now, enough of being emotional. I hope everything is having a great weekend cause I know I am. I got to sleep in for the first time in GOD knows how long. :)

PS- If ya'll could say some prayers for my brother I'd super appreciate it. He hasn't been the same since he came home from California and I am just worried about him. So say a little prayer...thanks ya'll!!!!

momma

I MISS my mom like crazy!!!!!!!! She is in Germany for a total of 5 weeks....yep, I said 5 weeks. She has been gone for a total of 2 1/2, this Saturday will mark 3 weeks. My mom went on this same journey 2 summers ago for 5 weeks. She goes with Clements High School, where she works and goes all over Germany including some other places like Austria and France. All this is great- but I MISS MY MOM.

You never realize how much you need a mom in your life until they are gone for a long amount of time. Mom's are the forefront of the household and without them , things fall apart. For 2 weeks it was just my dad and I at the house b/c my brother had been in California for 2 weeks visiting his fiance. Let's just say....the house was quiet, peaceful, and clean, but WE WERE MISSING MOM ( no offense Stephen). Things just aren't the same without my momma. She is loud, fun, crazy, silly, outgoing and I miss all that around the house. ( no offense Dad, haha) I know she is having a great time on her trip but I'm selfish and want her home. She has been emailing us and calling us a lot which is good. Two years ago she didn't keep in touch much which worried my dad and I but this time around she is doing a good job of it.

So to all you moms out there, I appreciate all that you do and I hope your hubster's and babies do as well. Mother's are a critical part of a family and I think are taken for granted. My hat goes off to all of you baby Momma's out there!

PS- Since my mom has been gone, my dad and I have not cooked one dinner, we have either ate tuna, Smartones, hotdogs, or veggies. Good huh? hahahah......what a sad story. For all you momma's out there, I challenge you to leave your family for 1 night and see how things go....I'm sure they'd fall apart sooner or later b/c Momma knows best! :)

Hope everyone is doing well and staying cool!

little bit of this, little bit of that

This is going to be a hodge-podge post...I have a lot to update everyone on- well probably for the only 3 people who read my blog, haha. Things have been sooooo busy lately in my life! Now that school is over I thought I would get a break, but that isn't the case. I have been working my butt off, planning my wedding, having showers, and coaching softball with my daddy-o...which I love!!!!

Brandon and I have been all over Texas lately, well not really, but it sure does seem like it. We went to go see Randy Rogers Band a couple weekends ago with Danni and Bryan and we had a blast! I took some pictures but I look like crap in all of them so I chose not to post them, sorry. Brandon's been umpiring a lot to make some extra cash and I've been working and coaching softball. We were also getting ready for our couple shower that we had last night, which I am going to write about right now.

Last night was Brandon and I's couple shower in Kingwood. His aunt and cousin were the hostesses and it had to the the most fun couple shower I have been to. The theme was baseball/softball scheming off of our Save-the-Date......the set up was soooooo cute! We had a great turn out and are so THANKFUL for all the gifts and for everyone who attended. The food was great, as always, his aunt his an amazing cook, the company was the best, and the time spent was amazing. We truly enjoyed our first shower and were overwhelmed with the generosity from everyone. Now before I continue to get emotional on ya, here are some pictures!
