baby blues in the bluebonnets

Can it get any better than this? I'm not sure it can. I was dying to get some shots of Bristol in the bluebonnets. My mom bought this wooden egg crate at hobby lobby and I'm so glad I thought about it. She hasn't quite master sitting up for long periods of time so I knew we needed something for her to sit in. This was the perfect prop, if I say so myself. I took the pictures last night, over 200. Kind of shutterbug happy, but shoot, I couldn't stop snapping pictures of my sweet pea.

I'm still doing mini sessions this weekend and next if the bluebonnets are still pretty. If you are interested, email me at Kms03b@yahoo.com

I will post more pics on here later this weekend from the shoot yesteday :)

Happy Friday!

endless nights

bristol has decided that sleeping at night is not fun or cool for a 7 month old. i beg differ and i'm sure you would to if you were in my shoes. my sweet child used to sleep through the night, for weeks and weeks. then around 5 months old she decided that it was no longer cool. we transfered her to her crib from her swing and it was a little rocky but ended up working out great. she had more room to sleep on her side and spread her little body out. i'm not sure why all of a sudden a child can sleep through the night and then BAM, never do it again. i thought i had super baby and i loved telling people " oh yeah, she sleeps through the night". it made me feel like i was a good mom who got their child on a routine and established good sleeping habits. little did i know that developmental milestones, teething, sickness(es) and any other weird things can interrupt their sleep schedule. oh yeah, too much sleep or too little sleep can hinder sleep habits too. she used to take 2-4 hours naps too, now i'm lucky if she gets an hour nap 2 times a day. we have followed the book "baby wise" which is all about the "eat, wake sleep" schedule. We actually STILL follow that. It's supposed to help them sleep through the night, which it did but now look where we are. i have also followed the book " how to solve your childs sleep problems". it took about 3-4 lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng nights to get her to sleep through the night in her crib, but it worked but until 3 weeks ago, we have come to a dead end. i tried ferberizing last week and since she has been teething so bad i decided to wait. well after the last few nights of NO sleep, i am doing it again. right now, she is screaming. i check in on her from 5-20 mins. i increase the time by 5 mins until i hit the 20 min mark.

last night, bristol woke up every hour. every.single.hour. what? why? every time i heard her cry on the monitor i would think...WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY? i know she isn''t doing it on purpose, i know this. but, my goodness, sleep is not a bad thing bristol. she IS teething right now but what she REALLY wants is for momma to rock her and hold her alllll night long. i can pick her up from her crib ( screaming and crying) and she will immediately stop crying, instantly. all she wants is me. while i LOVE that and love knowing that she wants her momma, it's been very difficult to get back on a routine since she has been not wanting to go to bed at her normal bedtime.

i'm so lost, frustrated, upset, sad and any other negative feeling there is. i love her so much i just want her to feel like she can fall asleep in her crib and be ok. which by the way, at nap time she has NO problem going to sleep. no problem at all. babies are smart and i know she knows when its night night time. i pray over her every night and just ask the lord for guidance and just to calm bristol's mind, heart, spirit and body. i just dont know what to do anymore. it really isn't about me not getting sleep, i just really want her to get some rest. good rest. not 2 hrs here or 2 hours there.

if you have any tips, i am so willing to hear them. i probably sound pathetic but i am lost.

i just want my sweet baby to get some rest.

little bunny foo-foo

I couldn't resist buying these little bunny ears from the dollar section at Target. I bought her a pink pair but I stepped on them the minute I brought them into her room. I was kind of sad when that happened but I'm glad I bought 2 pair.

This is changing the subject BUT... can any of you recommened a skin care line that you LOVE? Since having Bristol, my skin has gotten out of control. I didn't have perfect skin before Bristol, but I had it under control. I used to use proactive which I love but it can be pricey. I've been on prescription face stuff before but it's not working anymore. So if there is something that you love, share it with me!

I'm starting to do mini sessions in bluebonnets next weekend. I will be taking Bristol's pictures this weekend and SOOOOOOOOOOOO can't wait to see how they turn out. Her blue eyes with the bluebonnets, YES PLEASE.

If you are interested in a mini session, email me at Kms03b@yahoo.com. I'm scheduling quick so don't pass this up! The place is on 5 acres of land full of bluebonnets and indian painbrushes.

Hope you are enjoying your week! We sure are!

Monday Funday

Brandon is off for spring break. Bristol is happy that daddy is home. Momma is happy to have her little family of 3 home together for a whole week. We enjoyed our weekend and Monday together. Running errands, house work, playing with our sweet baby girl and taking sweet photos of her. My mind is constantly thinking of new ways to photograph Bristol. I have the best model. She never fusses, never cries and just sits back and lets momma snap a few, ok A LOT of pictures of her sweet face.

I hope you all enjoyed your Monday too. :)

1/2 of a year old

Bristol is 6 months old, well actually, she is 6 1/2 months old. I did a post awhile ago of her 6 month photos I took. Every month I take her " monthly crib" picture. I took these awhile ago and just haven't posted them yet. While taking these pictures, she got a little silly and face planted into her mattress. I couldn't help but crack up. It didn't even phase her. I sure hope she is "tough" when she gets older. So far, she can be sensitive at times, but that's ok but it gives me one more reason to cuddle and snuggle with her.

Here is what's going on with my little one...

She is eating table food 2 times a day. We start with oatmeal and fresh mashed up banana for breakfast ( after her morning bottle ). Her evening meal is homemade apple sauce and sweet potatoes or butternut squash. She LOVES it all. In fact, when she finishes, I get up and put the dirty bowl and spoon in the sink, when she sees me do this, she bursts into tears. This makes me laugh because it's sooo dramatic. I'll give her her paci and that usually gets her to stop crying. I will be introducing new foods slowly. So far the only food she hasn't liked was avocado. I think it was the consistency. I just made pears today, I baked them in the oven just like I do the apples. I'm sure she will like them. Anytime she sees a bottle she freaks out. She can find a bottle from any room, it's hilarious. She takes 5-6 ounces for each bottle. You would think Bristol would weight more than she does cause she loves to eat but she is still a peanut.

Bristol is taking 2-3 naps a day. They range from 45 mins - 2 hours. The 2 hour naps are few and far between. I miss the good ole days when she was taking 2-4 hour naps. Yes, I said 4 hours. The first time she took that long of a nap I completely panicked and had to run into the bedroom to make sure she was breathing. She goes down perfect at nap time, never fussy. She will usually play with her baby doll or seahorse for about a couple mins and then rolls over on her right side and she is out. She loves sleeping on her right side, but gravity gets the best of her and pulls her back on her back. No sleeping on her tummy, she hates it. So, she either sleeps on her right side of her back. At night time, she doesn't go down as easy as nap time and I don't understand that. Maybe 3-4 times a week she wants to be rocked to bed, but she doesn't need it at nap time, strange? I usually try to avoid rocking but if she wakes up 3-4 times after me going in there several times, I just rock her for 5 mins and put her back in the crib. Sometimes she sleeps through the night but mostly she doesn't. She will wake up squeaking or doing a whine but her eyes are still closed. I have to put her paci back in her mouth and then she goes right back down. Bristol wakes up anywhere between 7:30 - 8:45am every morning, happy as can be. There is nothing better than walking up to her crib, her eyes making contact with me and giving me the BIGGEST smile. I.love.it!

Bristol really is more fun everyday. She loves to play in her bouncer, watch mickey mouse in any of her chairs ( bumbo, nap nanny, bouncer, lamby chair ), likes to play on her back, chews on EVERYTHING, can find her paci and put it back in mouth ( she is sooooo good at doing that little trick and it's the cutest thing ever). She still hates tummy time, hates it! I have to change up tummy time by locations. We will do tummy time on me, the bed, the floor, the couch.... she needs a change of scenery. Bristol's new favorite game is peek-a-boo. I put a burp rag on top of her head and she pulls it off. Then I put the rag on my head and she will reach and pull it off. She gets the biggest kick out of it. Bristol still LOVES books. In fact, I need to go to 1/2 priced books and get some news one for her. Bristol is making all sorts of noises now a days. She squeals, screams, laughs, coo's, grunts..... all the noises are tooo cute. When she is mad she will scrunch her nose and rub her feet together.

She has no desire to crawl, roll over ( although she can) or stand up. She is spoiled. We are working on these skills everyday at home. She can sit up by herself but still needs a little help after a few seconds. Well, more like she needs to be supervised, haha. I am so proud that she has finally wanted to do this, I was starting to worry. But I have realized that Bristol is on her own time schedule, she will do what she wants when she wants. And I have finally come to grips with it. I can't wait till she can sit up with no help and play with her friends at play group. She is one of the youngest and while all her friends are on the floor playing she is sitting in my lap. I can't wait till she interacts with all of them.

It really is a new day everyday with Bristol. I love watching her grow, learn new things and becoming a little person. It does pain me a little bit to think that this time with her has gone by so fast. I can't imagine going back to work in August and leaving her at a day care.

Speaking of day care, if you have any recommendations on a place PLEASE let me know. Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, if you are willing to or know someone who would watch Bristol full-time next year let me know! :)

Thanks!
