a nice day for a white wedding!

One of my best friends got married this weekend, Lisa Hoogerwerf, now Lisa Gililung. I had the honor of being her maid of honor, first time ever for me. Her wedding was beautiful, she was beautiful, it went off without a hitch. I had a great time seeing old friends and making new ones. I am so happy for Lisa and her husband Brandon. Congrats you guys! Here are a few pictures from their special day!

galveston.

Can you believe that this picture was taken in Galveston?(picture below) I CAN'T! Myself, Brandon, my brother , and his fiance from California all went to Galveston today to show Jess our " beach", hahahaha! I really set Jess up to expect an ugly place, I said all the negative things about it, and believe it or not, she really liked it! I was happy to hear that, her coming from California and all where the beaches and water is 50 times better than our good ole Galveston beach. It really was a beautiful day today, a little cooler than I would of liked but hey, it was still BEAUTIFUL! I was actually quite impressed with Galveston this time around, kinda funny. Anyway, just wanted to share a few pictures from today since I haven't shared any pictures lately!

* Super excited to see Mitchell, JD, and Jaxon this weekend! wahooo! Ya'll have a great Friday and weekend!

i love friends!

I must admit, there is nothing better than having great friends in your life. Brandon and I drove to Spring, Texas to hang out with Danielle and Bryan McDonald this weekend. I met and played softball with Danielle at ACU and we instantly became friends in those 2 years I was at ACU. Not to mention, she was from Houston- we had the H-town connection. Danni and I have been in the same city for the past 3ish years ( Houston) and had failed to EVER hang out, kinda messed up right? It's all my fault, I am horrible at keeping in contact with friends, its a down fall of mine. We had always emailed or texted each other but never hung out. We always talked about getting together and hanging out but it would never happen UNTIL.................. Danni text messaged me and invited me to the Rodeo to see Martina McBride. Of course I went and we really had a great time catching up with each other! We got to do the girl gossip thing, reminisce from the good ole softball days, and enjoy some good music at the same time. Then Danni and I discussed about going out with our significant others , so we drove to Spring last night and hung out with them. We had a freakn awesome time! We ate dinner at Chuy's with a few margi's - oh they are so good, and then went bowling! A lot of laughter, jokes, and shootin the breeze happened and that was exactly what Brandon and I needed. We have been so busy lately and getting away for a night was great! So Danni and Bryan, THANK YOU for an awesome Saturday night and letting us crash at your place! Love you guys!

PS- Danni and Bryan showed us some neighborhoods around theirs and Brandon and I are VERY interested in building or buying a home by them! JD- YOU SHOULD CONSIDER IT TOO :)

meet our kids

Meet my sweet little pups. Rocky ( pictured below with me) and Nakona pictured with Brandon are both Shih Tzu's and pretty much the loves of my life OTHER THAN Brandon ( He'll disagree with me on that, he'll say I love them more than him). It's kinda weird that Brandon is with Nakona and I'm with Rocky, usually it's the other way around.

Rocky is the boy, can't you tell? He is ALL boy, weighing in at a whopping 18-20 lbs ( give or take ). He is one big Shih Tzu but the most loving dog in the world. He doesn't ask for much and when he does ask for much its kisses, "rubs", and hugs. We call him our "lover boy", haha b/c he is so lovingAnd I'm dead serious about all 3 of those. :) He LOVES to swim!!!!!!! During the summers he is all about jumping into the pool. If there is a raft in the pool he WILL jump in it regardless of anyone being in the pool. He just loves to be with "his people" ( so my dad says, hehe). Rocky is very, well how do I put it, anal about things? There are just some things that he DOES NOT let you do to him. But all in all, I love this dog, he always makes me smile no matter what.He is our little cubby bear. My family is obsessed with him and so am I! :)

Now on to Nakona. I named her Nakona because my softball glove brand is Nokona, but I chose to spell it different. She is our miss priss and princess pea. She walks around the house like she is a diva- which is totally not like me. She weighs in at a whopping 9lbs- SUPER tiny compared to Rocky. It's funny to see them together b/c she is so small compared to him. She, on the other hand, hates to swim, hates taking a bath ( but is so good when she gets in there, its weird?), and she is not as loving as Rocky. Although, she will let you do ANYTHING and when I say anything, I truly mean that. She will let you hold her like a baby, turn her over on her back for a belly rub, you can do anything to her and she doesn't put up a fight. Her favorite thing is getting her belly rubbed. ( see picture below, excuse the little jean diaper, she was , well on her womanly thing) She loves to sit on pillows, thats why we call her princess pea, if there is a pillow , she's on it. She loves carrots, as Rocky does too. She almost lost her right eye due to a ulcer that attacked her whole eye but luckily extensive care ( from mom- that'd be me - 3 different eye drops every hour for 1 week straight, along with surgery- sleepless nights) she did not lose her eye. It looks like she has one blue eye and one brown eye. My family loves this little girl and well, we baby her, maybe because she is so small and cute? :)

So there is a little bit about our kids! They are my kids and if you are one of those people who hate people who think their dogs are their kids, well, I'm sorry! These are my babies and until I have children of my own with Brandon, they will continue to be spoiled little pups :)

Hope you all are having a great week and an even greater weekend!

decisions decisions decisions

It seems as though, the sooner the wedding approaches I can't make any decisions. The biggest decision that I am struggling with is the guest list. From the beginning Brandon has always wanted a small wedding, but I have always pictured having my friends and family I love most be at my wedding ( which we both have a big family and friend circle). So here is the issue.......Brandon wants a small wedding, I don't. My parents said that they would give us money for a house if we cut the wedding list by a lot. OK- let's step into reality here, IT WON'T HAPPEN. Like I said, Brandon and I both have large families, the guest list right there with family alone would be over 100 people. A small wedding to me is um....like 50-80 people. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN! So- through out my days I somehow always come to the issue of the guest list. Whether I am at work, school, home, driving, wherever it may be, it always comes up in my head. Some days I think, -oh yeah, lets cut back the guest list and take the rest of the money to put down for a house, and then I slap myself and say...HECK NO, ITS IMPOSSIBLE! I just feel that there are a lot of people that I want at my wedding who I truly care about and if I didn't invite them, I would feel bad and upset. I realize that on your wedding day you barely remember anything, you won't say Hi to everyone there, blah blah blah- at least that's what I have been hearing a lot lately, but at the same time, I realize that, but knowing that they were there on my special day means a lot. I want to make myself and Brandon happy with the guest list issue, but I feel as though that might be difficult. The save the dates are supposed to go out in the next several weeks which means a decision needs to be made in the next several weeks- I don't know if I can do that. AHHHHHHHH! So I know this is silly, but if ya'll could pray for a peace of mind for me with this issue I'd appreciate it.

Now onto another issue, ha ha. I promise I'm really not a crazy messed up person. Lately, everyone I come across has been asking me " where are you going to live when you get married" and my response EVERY TIME is......... I HAVE NO CLUE! ( I made a post about this issue last month I believe) We really don't want to live in an apartment, but it looks like we will be. Which I am OK with, but at the same time the thought of a house is sooooo NICE! I think we found a promising place to live and we are going there tomorrow. My aunt lived in these apartments for a while and she liked them. We can find a 2 bedroom/ 1 bathroom with a patio for DIRT cheap and we are still living in a great area. It's in the neighborhood of Pecan Grove ( for all of you Houston/Sugar Land natives, you know where this is). Anyway, please pray that this works out for us and we can afford the marry life soon.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and have a great monday!
